چکیده

ABSTRACT The recently published Gaia DR3 catalogue of $181\, 327$ spectroscopic binaries (SB) includes the Keplerian elements each orbit but not measured radial velocities (RVs) and their epochs. Instead, lists a few parameters that characterize robustness solution. In this work, we use two external sources to validate orbits – $17\, 563$ LAMOST DR6 $6 018$ GALAH stars with RVs have Gaia-SB orbits. We compare expected RVs, based on orbits, measurements. Finding some are inconsistent these measurements, constructed function estimates probability be correct, using robust parameters. devise clean still very large single-lined (SB1) sample $91\, 740~$ differs from parent by absence physically unlikely hence presumably spurious short-period high eccentricity. SB1 offers prospect thorough statistical studies binary population after carefully modelling remaining selection effects. At first look, possible features emerge paucity low-mass primaries, which might result observational bias, subsample main-sequence circular probable evidence for circularization processes.

Spectroscopic binaries with elliptical orbits

The radial velocity curves of many spectroscopic binaries (SBs) are perturbed by gas streams or proximity effects. For SBs with circular orbits, these perturbations can give rise to spurious orbital eccentricities of high statistical significance. But tests to identify such anomalous orbits can be constructed since perturbed velocity curves are in general no longer Keplerian. The derived tests ...

Precision radial velocities of double - lined spectroscopic binaries with an iodine absorption cell

A spectroscopic technique employing an iodine absorption cell (I 2) to superimpose a reference spectrum onto a stellar spectrum is currently the most widely adopted approach to obtain precision radial velocities of solar-type stars. It has been used to detect ∼80 extrasolar planets out of ∼130 known. Yet in its original version, it only allows us to measure precise radial velocities of single s...

GAIA Spectroscopy and Radial Velocities

GAIA spectroscopic and radial velocity performancies are reviewed on the base of groundbased test observations and simulations. The prospects for accurate analysis of stellar atmospheres (temperature, gravity, chemical abundances, rotation, peculiarities) and precise radial velocities (single stars, binaries, pulsating stars) are colorful provided the spectral dispersion is high enough. A highe...

Validated Integration of Asteroid Orbits

From the earliest days of self-validating methods, the integration of orbits in the solar system has ranked high on the interest of researchers; in fact the early work of Ramon Moore in this area presented one of the first practical applications of self-validated and interval methods. In this talk we focus on recent developments in this direction, specifically the integration of near-earth aste...

Radial velocities and iron abundances of field

This is the second of the papers devoted to derive radial velocities and iron abundances of field RR Lyraes observed by HIPPARCOS. Our abundances show good agreement with those in the literature obtained both from photometric (∆S index) and spectroscopic methods. Binary candidates and stars misclassified as RR Lyraes in the original HIPPARCOS list have been also identified.
